Airborne Beer
army recruiter advice?
Hey everyone I need a bit of advice. I got a MIP when I was 18 for holding an unopened beer that I had no intention of drinking. I also experimented with pot around the age of 17 but have not touched the shit sense. I’m now 21 and am going in to talk to an army recruiter. I don’t want to lie because I plan on making a 20 year career out of the military and I was not sure if polygraphs were ever used. When I get some solid experience under my belt I also plan on going airborne. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Honesty is the best policy. Inform the recruiter of the MIP just so he knows. I doubt it will mean anything. But it is better if he knows from day 1. If you haven't been smoking weed for over 4 yrs, then it should be out of your system when you take the drug test. And as far as Airborne goes, you need to get there ASAP. Mt bro went in as a welder (don't remember the MOS) and went Airborne in his 1st 2yrs (he's on his 3rd tour in Afghan now). The sooner you get there, the better! Good Luck!
