Carlos Hathcock

Proof of the number of confirmed enemy kills?

Is the number of confirmed kills an infantry soldier makes recorded somewhere?

When the soldier has retired from the army, can he provide proof to another civilian that he has partial or complete responsibility of this many confirmed kills?

For example, how do people really know Carlos Hathcock really had 93 confirmed kills? (I know Carlos Hathcock is USMC. But he's still military, so there should be similarities)

I really don't want to be Army infantry if I can't brag about my kills, provided I'm good enough to make them. I clan work my a$$ off for a low salary elsewhere.

Thanks

first off, not unless its going on some award or something. for snipers its a bit easier to track kills, since everything gets reported and documented in the military and its pretty obvious who made the kill if its a 2 man team with 1 shooter. for regular infantry though its going to be your squads/platoons report that gets documented. i.e. "1st squad 1st platoon A Co 1/111 INF killed 1 insurgent at durka durka iraq at 12:00 on 1 OCT 2010" not "private smith killed 1 insurgent blah blah blah". if you're CoC is overly anal and does sworn statements for every enemy killed, you could go back and gather all of those up and use them as proof but good luck with all that paperwork and good luck getting a chain of command thats going to do that for a 12 month deployment.

secondly, if you want to brag then join the marines. the army isnt about bragging, its about getting the job done. theres no real point to brag anyway, since anyone worth bragging to was there and already knows about it.
