Chopper Pilot
Military Chopper Pilot question?
I am a U.S. Marine Corps 0351 Infantry assualtman and have deployed to afghanistan once and have 2 years left in service. I am gunna be leaving the service with a BS in Finance. I want to get trained as a chopper pilot because I always liked them and it seems very profitable. I want to get trained to fly but I don't want to be apart of the military bullshit anymore. Is there a reserve or national guard program I can join so I can stay at home and get trained to fly because heck I have done my combat service and am kinda done with this shit.
You've been deployed yet didn't encounter one National Guard or Reserve unit that was deployed in your area too. Joining the military regardless of NG or Reserves still leaves you open to deployment. Do we really believe that every helicopter being flown in Iraq or Afghanistan are all being flown by active duty pilots? If you don't want the military anymore try using your GI Bill or post 911 and go to a civilian flight school. Other than that apply for the Army Warrant officer program and prepare yourself for many more years of military BS after successfully completing flight school. Staying at home especially as a NG or Reserve soldier in the Army is no longer a viable option.
