I want to know what happens AFTER the DoD denies my secret security clearance application?

I have recruit training 2010 01 21 with the Navy. My current MEPS contract has me at E-1 and listed as an IT set for Pensacola A school after recruit training is completed. IT is said to be a secret security clearance and I have probably 8 different debts totalling 5000 dollars in total that when I was at MEPS I never put on the SF-86. I'm going to change that with my recruiter and file it with the correct debt info on it, but I will most likely be denied clearance anyway. I want to know what happens AFTER the DoD denies my secret security clearance application? Also what if I'm already at A school when the clearance is denied? Do I get to choose something else? I know I've asked a couple questions like this but I'm very concerned and the recruiter seems to be only trying to find the easiest way to get me in and then his hands are clean. Any recruiters or other service members have any idea what my options will be? Thank you in advance.

I filed for bankruptcy a few years before I joined and I had no problem getting a secret let alone a top secret. So I wouldn't worry. And 5 grand in debt is pennies compared to what the majority of Americans carry. But to answer your question, if you should happen to get denied yes you have to get a job that does not require a secret clearance or an assignment in your field that only requires a confidential or lower clearance. But that will limit your promotion and assignment possibilities in the future.
