Does anyone know this book from a special forces soldier in Vietnam?
I read some years ago and it was really good, but I can not remember the name and I want to read it again. He is a soldier who was recruited in the early years of special forces. He was then expelled for accidentally shooting a round of 40 mm in some friendly Vietnamese soldiers. He becomes a soldier and then SCRA at school Rangers. He passes 6 or 7 laps in Vietnam and at one point frags his commander and was demoted for her. This was not a work of fiction. It was demoted to private from a senior NCO, but was later able to return to my opinion, MGS by the time of his retirement. The 40mm didn't hurt one of the soldiers of friendly forces, but arrived in their midst. If you frag an officer will be tried and sent to prison or executed, you would not be demoted. No one is kicked out of the special forces for accidentally firing into friendly forces you would be prosecuted or courts marshaled and expelled from the service. I've never heard of this book, but it is a work of fiction.
