Is Aerospace Ground Equipment considered part of an Aircraft Maintenance Squadron?
I'm joining the Air Force to be an AGE maintainer and was just wondering what kind of squadron I would be assigned to? It will be for an Airlift Wing and was just wondering if AGE was a part of the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron?
You will be assigned to an "Equipment Maintenance Squadron".
This is one of typically three or more different squadrons that make up the Aircraft Maintenance Complex.
EMS includes many facets of Off-Equipment and heavy, field level maintenance and support functions for assigned aircraft.
It is usually one of the larger squadrons on most bases with active flying Wings.
