Military Token
I wear my poppy with pride symbolic today, but you wonder why did this happen?
I lost two grandparents in WW2, and a great grandfather in WW1 OK, just as we remember those who gave their lives. But being forced to enlist in the army, and the risk of your life because of political differences can not be right. Any ideas? Bob
I Never wear mine with "pride". I carry myself as simply an expression of remembrance for those who fought and died, and in the hope that it will encourage others to give a little if they can, to those who came home broken, and their families. Without all these terrible sacrifices none of us would have the freedoms we enjoy today. I want to neutrality on the rights and wrongs of conscription. There will be times when the needs of the nation must * * gain ascendancy over the human rights, and if a call to arms become necessary due to arrive in person to withdraw. We can not have a situation where some struggle while others hide under the table, and where the death of those who are only fighting for the benefit of those who do nothing. This is totally unacceptable. I'd be more inclined to arrange for the removal of the coast - always - to anyone who does not care to fight for it if necessary. The choice should not be or not to fight against, we must fight or go for good.
