Stripper Clips
Would it be a better dollar value to go with an SKS Carbine for $500 or a Saiga 7.62x39 with five mags?
They end up being the same price. The SKS is obviously older, but I can also avoid running out of full mags with it, since stripper clips are obviously far cheaper. Each Saiga mag is only 10 rounds.
Obviously a Garand would be great, but I'm not looking for smart-ass answers like Talkie McSaysalot who answered first. Thanks, but no.
The better dollar value would be to forget the foreign stuff and buy American. Keep our money in the good ole US of A.
