Was there any military airborne person that died because his parashoot wouldn't work?

I wanted to know because i was thinking about joining the military but what if my parashoot doesn't work i seen many of those daredevil people who jump off of planes as a hobby die because it doesn't work! or are the military parashoots better?

If your 'chute doesnt open wide, you got a reserve by your side. Now, If your reserve doesnt open round, well, youll be the first one on the ground....
