Tuesday, December 14th, 2010I bought a car from this guy about a month ago. But I never recieved the title. Now he's MIA, how can I get a
duplicate? The agreement was since I was gonna drive away with his tags, once I brought the tags back he would give me the title. So I gave the tags back and something came up to where I had to leave b4 getting the title, now the contact # I have for him is no good. I've been leaving messages on that line and I've went to his place, but it seems as if he moved. So my question is. How can I go about getting a new title? So I can get tags for my car??

Why not? You did an ignorant thing after all. Cars are sold by title. No cash should leave your hand unless and until you have a clear, signed title that matches the car you are buying and has the name of the person selling it as owner.
Since you didn't get a title, you didn't buy a car. You were scammed. You can't get a new title without going through the rather complicated and expensive bonded title routine.
Someone will no doubt tell you "Apply for a lost title." If you do, and pay for it, they will mail it to the owner of record, not you.
Sorry, looks like you have a car you can't drive for a while. Need parts? You can use it for that.
