Thursday, May 20th, 2010Is the current strife in Gaza utterly pointless and circular?
Is Israel fighting against itself? By engaging in military actions like the ones currently being carried out Israel is only sowing the seeds of the next generation of Hamas fighters. I do not see how continually persecuting Palestinians while building settlements on their land and trying to drive Palestinians out will bring peace. In the same token, Hamas' useless and pointless attacks do nothing more than bring down greater Israeli wrath. Both sides are perpetuating a circular war and only getting death in return. Are both sides fighting a pointless battle?
cfoster, the thread starter wasn't picking sides, he's just stating the obvious, the entire conflict is a cycle. Chill out.
He is right, Israel will fight the terrorists, the terrorists will lose. a few months/years form now terrorists start shooting rockets/attacking Israel again, and the cycle repeats.
So yes, they are fighting a pointless battle since, the arab countries taht finance terrorist organizations don't directly go to war with israel and israel won't directly go to war with countries that finance terrorism, due to the fact that pretty much everyone in that area would get screwed.
