Dog Vietnam Rare
Thursday, September 15th, 2011Vietnamese Dog Breeds: What are they and why so few?
I am writing a paper on symbols of animals and how culture sees different types of animals, and have moved into the Vietnam war and how Americans used dogs as part of their battle while Vietnamese guerilla fighters would actually kill dogs because they were blowing their cover.
I have been looking on various rare breed sites, and am looking for types of dog that are originally bred in Vietnam, what their purpose is and seeing if I can make a point as far as culturally why there are so few dog breeds in Vietnam when there are many bred around the world.
I don't need much otherwise, but if anyone has any dog breeds I've missed in my search, or information on why Vietnam does not have dogs in their culture as much as specifically Americans, that would be great!
Educated answers only, please...
The poorer the country the less money they have to spend on things that aren't a necessity. Pets are a luxury.
