Special Warfare

I want to go to Naval Special Warfare and become a Navy SEAL. I swim on a high school swim team and run high school track. I'm looking into being a VBSS (Visit Board Search and Seizure) sailor before going to BUD/S but I'm not sure how to get to VBSS and would not want to find out the hard way. Advise would be great.
VBSS is done by ship crews and they are selected by their officers to go to a course and get qualified. BUDS is Freaking BUDS they do not compare believe me. It wont make a difference If you want to be a SEAL concentrate on being a SEAL believe me
