CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME CHOOSE THE BEST KNIFE STEEL?

I'm looking into buying a new edc knife and i'm into the kershaw blur, kershaw junkyard dog 2, sog aegis and the cold steel recon 1. Only problem is that i don't know which blade Is the sharpest and which blade will hold an edge better. I have been informed that the kershaw blades are made of; 13c26 sandvik steel and that the sog uses Aus 8 steel. I also believe the cold steel recon uses Aus 8A steel which is stronger.
Can someone educate me a little more on the steel and which blade they would personally choose as their edc knife? Thanks I really appreciate it :)

how sharp a knife is and how well it holds an edge are opposites: the sharper it is, the sooner it will lose an edge. theres really only 1 popular brand of knife that i'd trust, and thats benchmade. gerber are crap (pretty much every aspect of it), kbar is poorly balanced, and cold steel is cheaply made. dont know much about kershaw or sog. if you want a knife you can trust your life with, go to a knife smith. a hand made knife will have less chance of problems or defects than a factory made one.
as far as metals go: im a big fan of s30v. its stainless, holds an edge, and can takea beating.
go online and look up various steels. softer metals are easier to sharpen and will bend more. harder metals are harder to sharpen and will chip more. stainless is resistant to rust. etc.
also its not just the steel, its what its hardened to.
