I got this old wwii USN (US Navy) hooded poncho. The thing is it smells very strange and when people come near it the start coughing and feeling dizzy. Perhapse mold. I tried soap and water but it barely lessened the problem. It was my grandfathers and I collect old things like it so throwing it out is not an option. It seems to be made out of canvas and has sleeves and a hood. Sorry I could not find a picture.
Take it to the cleaners. They can take out the mold smell.
