Will america ever fight in a 'jungle war' again? (like Vietnam)?

im 17 and latley in our history class, we've been discussing the vietnam war. I really do love this era. My uncles stories really excite me, about how a tree fell on my uncle ronnies back, and how my other uncle Russell worked on some Huey's, and their combat fighting... and how they couldnt see who they were shooting at in the jungles. i love it.

just the old footage of men in their thick rimmed glasses, wearing olive drab uniforms, no camo, its so great...

my question is basically.... will america ever be in another war involved in jungles? right now we're in the desert. i just liked the old way of war, now aday's it's a technilogical war more than a person vs. person war. I'm thinking of joining the army after high school. still not sure whether or not i want to do it. i'll decide this year i bet since i graduate in one year.

True that war is not fun. Been there done that.

America will fight another jungle war if it needs to. The thing America learned from Vietnam is how to fight a war badly. There were too many rules placed on combat so the people on the ground couldn't be as effective as they could have been. War is war and not politics. There was too much politics in Vietnam and we should never fight a war the same way again. The soldiers are not to blame at all.

The combat operations at the beginning of the Iraq war were the way it should have been fought. Now there are too many rules placed on the troops, as it was in Vietnam, so the troops are having trouble maintaining the peace.
