Used Rifle

Question about buying a gun used in Virginia?

I think buying a gun from my friend and my need to know I have to do for any legal. I need to find out what paper work I do. Am I obligated to go through background checks or other type of record (this is a gun fire in the center). Or if someone knows who I can contact to find these things. thank you.

I can tell you guns are not registered in VA (guns only). You may contact a dealer the VA because they are intimate with these laws. I have a friend who is a broker and do stuff like this all the time. Also check this: http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Firearms.shtm its just that you can always look on firearms in Virginia I know it was not what you wanted to know, but I hope it helps!
