Why can't we just stop spending money of the department of war?
I think the money should just go down for other things, like welfare checks and a government run health care system or schools
Simple - our country will never stop being attacked, whether it's physical attacking or things like Bin Laden sending us video threats.
And as for the money going to "welfare" and a "government run health care system," you're out of your mind if you want to replace military money with those. A lot of people on welfare are just bullshitting their way through. They sit on their ass all day instead of working because it's easier to not work and get payed a little less. The government health care system is also ridiculously flawed.
As for schooling, that's another story. I'm all for adding some extra money to schools, we really need it.
